Pay: Starting at $38/hour for qualified candidates
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Education Teacher to join our team in Long Lake, MN, starting February 1, 2025. This full-time position will focus on serving an elementary school caseload, supporting students with diverse learning needs and helping them achieve academic, social, and emotional success.
The ideal candidate will have strong instructional and interpersonal skills, a passion for individualized education, and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, students, and families. Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to meet the specific needs of students with disabilities.
- Provide direct instruction in small groups and one-on-one settings to students with varying learning, emotional, and physical needs.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and other specialists to support students inclusion in the general education classroom.
- Assess students' academic, emotional, and behavioral progress through regular evaluations and maintain accurate records.
- Monitor and adjust instructional strategies to ensure students are meeting IEP goals and objectives.
- Partner with parents, guardians, and support staff to communicate student progress and provide resources to support learning at home.
- Attend and participate in IEP meetings, staff meetings, and professional development sessions.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement, independence, and confidence.
- Maintain compliance with federal and state special education laws and district policies.
- Bachelors Degree in Special Education or related field (Masters preferred).
- Valid Minnesota Special Education Teaching License.
- Experience working with elementary-aged students with diverse learning needs.
- Proficiency in developing and implementing IEPs and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong understanding of evidence-based instructional strategies, classroom management techniques, and differentiated instruction.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Compassionate, patient, and committed to meeting students where they are.
- Full-time position; MondayFriday during school hours.
- The position will serve an elementary school caseload in Long Lake, MN.
- On-site position with opportunities for collaboration, mentorship, and professional development.
