Role Summary:
As a Special Education Teacher, youll work closely with students, families, and fellow educators to deliver tailored learning experiences that empower students with diverse needs. Your role will focus on fostering academic achievement and personal growth in a nurturing classroom setting.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Individualized Instruction: Develop and deliver lesson plans that meet the unique learning needs of students.
  • IEP Development: Create and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to align with district and state requirements.
  • Engaging Strategies: Implement varied instructional methods to ensure all students thrive.
  • Progress Monitoring: Regularly evaluate student progress and adapt teaching strategies as needed.
  • Classroom Leadership: Establish a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Collaboration: Partner with families and staff to deliver comprehensive support for students.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education.
  • Certification: Valid Maine Special Education teaching certification.
  • Experience: Experience in special education is preferred, though new educators are encouraged to apply.
  • Skills: Expertise in IEP development, differentiated instruction, and behavior management.
