Compensation: $125,000 - $165,000 base salary, plus $2,000 quarterly bonuses for meeting billable targets

About the Role
Join a well-established boutique law firm in Irvine, CA, as an Associate Attorney specializing in business and commercial litigation, with a secondary focus on family law cases involving business disputes. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on trial experience, supported by mentorship in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in all phases of litigation, including trial preparation, depositions, discovery, court appearances, and legal writing.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery responses.
  • Conduct legal research using platforms such as Westlaw or Lexis.
  • Handle cases involving family-business disputes in collaboration with the team.
  • Build strong relationships with clients while delivering high-quality legal service.

Qualifications

  • Licensed to practice law in California.
  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Minimum 1+ years of experience in litigation, including pre-trial stages.
  • Proven ability to prepare pleadings, motions, and make court appearances.
  • Experience in discovery processes, including depositions.
  • Strong legal writing, analytical, and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Family law experience and trial preparation are pluses.


About the Firm
This small yet dynamic firm is home to three attorneys and serves a mix of business clients and family law cases involving business disputes. The practice focuses on both plaintiff and defense work, with a primary emphasis on defense.

Work Expectations

  • Billable Hours: 1,800 annually, with quarterly targets and flexibility to make up time as needed.
