The IT Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring the IT infrastructure is robust, secure, and scalable to meet business needs. This includes monitoring daily operations of cloud-based systems, server hardware, software, and operating systems, as well as ensuring all facilities and users receive the necessary support to function optimally. The role may require occasional travel to facilities within a one-hour drive as needed. Additionally, the IT Manager will coordinate and manage department projects to align with the organization’s IT goals and serve as the first point of contact for off-hours issues.
Key responsibilities include overseeing the implementation of new technologies and systems to enhance operational efficiency, collaborating with the procurement department to select and purchase hardware, software, and third-party support, and testing, troubleshooting, and modifying information systems to ensure effective operation. The IT Manager will generate and analyze performance reports for operating systems, evaluate technology risks, and develop network disaster recovery plans and backup procedures to mitigate risks.
Compliance is a critical aspect of the role, requiring all IT activities to adhere to applicable laws, codes, and regulations. Budget oversight is also essential, with responsibility for managing the annual IT budget to ensure cost-effective spending. The IT Manager will remain up-to-date with advancements in technology and industry best practices to drive continuous improvement.
Where applicable, the IT Manager will oversee IT staff, assisting with recruiting and training employees, setting job expectations, and monitoring performance to build a high-performing team.
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in managing or leading IT staff, infrastructure, and services.
- Experience with computer networks, network administration, and network management.
- Proficient in cabling installation and support.
- Experience with wireless technology applications.
- Experience with IT security.
- Proficient in Microsoft Windows software, including server, SQL server, office, and exchange.
- Proficient with MS365 and Microsoft Entra ID.
