Job Description

Immediate opening for a Fluxcore MIG Welder in Hillsboro. The position involves working in a small shop environment, welding and fabricating structural parts, mainly steel beams and handrails for architectural projects and remodels.

Responsibilities

• Weld and fabricate structural parts, including steel beams and handrails.
• Read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols.
• Perform MIG welding (.045 Fluxcore) and 1/4" fillet welds.
• Operate forklifts to move heavy and large parts in and out of the shop.
• Utilize shop equipment such as saws, drills, and punches as needed.
• Perform grinding, saw operation, and general labor tasks.
• Measure materials accurately using a tape measure.

Essential Skills

• Previous MIG welding experience, either professionally or from schooling.
• Experience in metal fabrication.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols.
• Forklift operation skills.
• Proficiency in operating shop equipment like saws, drills, and punches.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Completed welding school (preferred).
• Own hood and steel-toed boots.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed through the end of the year.

Work Environment

Work in a small metal shop with both indoor and outdoor areas. The yard area is used for organizing steel beams and large structural pieces, while the indoor space is for laying out pieces and welding. The schedule is Monday to Thursday, 6am - 4:30pm, with paid lunches. Be prepared to work 5x10s Monday to Friday through the end of the year.
