Job DescriptionJob DescriptionMinimum 1+ years school psychologist experience required.

Sunbelt is seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Psychologist near San Diego, California for a contracted position during the upcoming school year. As a School Psychologist, you will play a crucial role in supporting the academic, emotional, and behavioral well-being of students. You will work collaboratively with educators, parents, and other professionals to provide comprehensive psychological services and interventions.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations to identify students' strengths and challenges in cognitive, academic, social-emotional, and behavioral domains.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs) that meet students' unique needs.
  • Provide counseling and guidance services to students individually or in small groups to address emotional, social, and behavioral issues.
  • Support the development and implementation of evidence-based interventions to promote positive learning environments and improve student outcomes.
  • Consult with teachers and school staff to address classroom management strategies, learning strategies, and accommodations for students with special needs.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings to contribute expertise and collaborate on student support plans.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support during emergency situations or critical incidents.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of assessments, interventions, and progress monitoring.
  • Stay up to date with current research and best practices in the field of school psychology.


Qualifications:

  • Master's or doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited program.
  • Current state license or certification as a School Psychologist (or eligible for licensure/certification).
  • Strong knowledge of psychological theories, assessment tools, and intervention strategies.
  • Experience conducting assessments and evaluations for students with diverse learning and behavioral needs.
  • Familiarity with special education laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively collaborate with students, parents, teachers, and administrators.
  • Empathy, patience, and the ability to establish rapport with students and create a safe and supportive environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
