Full-Time School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

Location: Albert Lea, Minnesota

Employment Type: Full-Time, Immediate Start through May 28, 2025

Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our school-based team in Albert Lea, MN. This full-time position serves Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) students and secondary students in grades 8-12. The role begins immediately and continues through the end of the 2024-2025 school year (May 28, 2025). Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and diagnose speech, language, and communication disorders in ECSE and grades 8-12 students.

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with students' Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).

  • Provide direct and consultative speech and language therapy services.

  • Collaborate with educators, special education staff, and families to support student communication goals and academic success.

  • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting interventions as needed.

  • Participate in IEP meetings, providing input on speech-language goals and progress.

  • Stay informed of best practices and research in speech-language pathology to ensure high-quality service delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.

  • Current Minnesota Board of Teaching (BOT) licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist or eligibility to obtain it.

  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred, but Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidates will be considered.

  • Experience working with ECSE and/or secondary students is highly desirable.

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
