Job Description

A metalworking company in Goshen is seeking a dedicated 3rd shift Furnace Operator. Training will occur on the 1st shift until qualification, which can take up to one year, after which you will transition to the 3rd shift. The role involves working in a rotation with two others to clean out the furnace, melt materials, and operate the control room. Responsibilities include pouring chemicals into the furnace, which operates at temperatures between 2900 - 3100 degrees, and working with molten metal. Training on forklift and crane operation will be provided. The environment is extremely hot and dirty, requiring a high level of safety and attention to detail. On average, 7-10 melts are performed daily.

Responsibilities

• Clean out the furnace.
• Melt materials in the furnace.
• Operate the control room.
• Pour chemicals into the furnace.
• Work with molten metal.
• Operate forklifts and cranes.
• Ensure safety and attention to detail in a high-temperature environment.

Essential Skills

• Experience with molten metal operations.
• Understanding of power supply.
• Experience with machine or furnace operation.
• Ability to handle high temperatures (40 degrees hotter than outside).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Foundry experience.
• Previous furnace operating experience.
• Preventive maintenance skills.
• Mechanically inclined.
• Experience with heat treating and heavy lifting.

Work Environment

The work environment is extremely hot and dirty, with temperatures inside being 40 degrees hotter than outside. The facility is not climate-controlled. Fireproof suits are provided to ensure safety while working with molten metal.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $49000.00 - $54080.00
