Position Overview:We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our school team. The SLPA will work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide direct therapy to students, assist in implementing treatment plans, and help students achieve their communication goals. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a difference in students lives in a supportive and collaborative educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide direct speech-language therapy services to students as directed by the supervising SLP
- Assist in implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with communication challenges
- Prepare materials and set up equipment for therapy sessions
- Document and maintain accurate records of therapy sessions and student progress
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to support student success in the classroom
- Monitor and report students performance to the supervising SLP
- Adhere to ethical standards and school policies
- Associates or Bachelors degree in Communication Disorders, Speech-Language Pathology, or a related field
- SLPA licensure or certification as required by [State] regulations
- Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting (preferred)
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively under the supervision of a licensed SLP
