Job DescriptionJob Description

LHH Recruitment Solutions is currently seeking a Senior Inventory Accountant to join our Client’s organization. Position is 100% remote with option for hybrid in the NYC area.

Salary range is between $100,000 and $105,000 per year and bonus eligible.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct monthly inventory reconciliations.

  • Execute various month-end closing activities, including reviewing material and production variances, and reconciling stock ledger movements to the Cost of Goods Sold in the P&L.

  • Maintain internal controls related to inventory accounting.

  • Collaborate with internal teams such as supply chain, logistics, and production to streamline workflows and enhance inventory and cost accounting processes.

  • Enhance end-to-end inventory processes and reporting.

  • Evaluate inventory for potential excess and obsolete reserves.

  • Collaborate with operations teams to understand product costs, variance drivers, and optimize inventory management practices.

  • Assist in developing and implementing process improvements to boost efficiency and quality.

  • Utilize data analytics tools to identify cost reduction opportunities and improve inventory forecasting accuracy.

  • Prepare variance analysis and other analytics to ensure accurate financial results.

  • Support external audit processes by providing necessary documentation and liaising with auditors.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, CPA preferred.

  • Previous experience in public accounting is a plus.

  • 3-6 years of progressive experience in inventory accounting or related roles.

  • Advanced knowledge of US GAAP, inventory valuation methods, and cost accounting principles.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Desired Skills:

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analytics tools such as NetSuite, Power BI, Alteryx, and Tableau
