Job Description

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with a strong experience in Mastercam or CAD/CAM software. This role involves reading technical drawings, setting up machines, programming cutting paths, performing quality assurance tests, and troubleshooting machine issues. The position is for the 2nd shift in the tool room from 2pm to 12am, with occasional weekend and overtime work.

Responsibilities
  • Read technical drawings and set up machines according to blueprints.
  • Use computer software to model cutting paths and program machines.
  • Perform quality assurance tests to ensure products meet design specifications.
  • Adjust machine cutting paths or settings to optimize production while maintaining quality.
  • Consider tools required to cut particular materials and program machines accordingly.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems with machines as they arise.
  • Perform basic machine maintenance such as cleaning and sharpening.
  • Train new team members on CNC machine operations and programs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
  • At least three years of previous experience as a CNC Machinist in a manufacturing environment.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience with Mastercam or CAD/CAM software.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Skilled at troubleshooting and resolving mechanical or logistical problems.
  • Ability to work independently and follow directions closely.
  • Positive and professional attitude.
  • Availability to work weekends and overtime as needed.
  • Previous experience in training and developing apprentice CNC Programmers/Operators.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with Mastercam programming from scratch.
  • Familiarity with Haas machines and controllers.
  • Experience with EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining).

Additionally, employees receive a 5% premium for 2nd shift work and are eligible for 1.5x pay after 40 hours and 2x pay on Sundays with 48 hours worked.

Work Environment

This position is located in a stamping facility with six buildings. The work environment includes presses ranging from 100 to 600 tons, MIG welding machines, and orbit forming machines. While the facility is loud and not the cleanest, it offers a robust and engaging work environment for those passionate about machining and manufacturing.
