Special Education Teacher - Palos Heights, IL

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Special Education Teacher to join a dynamic school district in Palos Heights, IL. This role offers a meaningful opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of students with diverse learning needs.

Job Overview:
  • Position: Special Education Teacher
  • Location: Palos Heights, IL
  • Duration: Full-time
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Grade Levels: Elementary, Middle, or High School (assignment to be determined)
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each students specific needs.
  • Design and deliver engaging lessons that acmodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Work collaboratively with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to create a holistic learning environment.
  • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as necessary.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom setting for students with special needs.
  • Attend IEP meetings, staff meetings, and professional development sessions to stay informed and contribute to team goals.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education or a related field.
  • Valid Illinois teaching certification with a Special Education endorsement.
  • prehensive understanding of IDEA, IEP processes, and best practices in special education.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and munication skills.
  • Prior experience working with students with special needs is preferred but not mandatory.
