Job Description

This entry-level position involves working as a manufacturing associate in a steel slitting environment. The individual will be cross-trained in three different roles and must be able to operate a computer and lift up to 35 pounds.

Responsibilities
  • Move materials at the start or end of the process to the appropriate area using overhead cranes and pallet jacks.
  • Operate machines by loading and unloading materials, with typical run times of 30 minutes.
  • Work in a paint room, reloading coating material into the machine approximately every 15 minutes.
Essential Skills
  • Ability to use a computer
  • Ability to lift 35 pounds
  • Previous manufacturing experience
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in a slitting environment or chemical processing plant is ideal

Work Environment

The work environment is non-climate controlled and has a paint smell. Safety glasses, closed-toed shoes, and long pants/sleeves are required. Shifts are from 4 AM to 4 PM or 4 PM to 4 AM, with the first week of training on days from 8 AM to 5 PM. The second week will likely be from 8 AM to 8 PM, and the third week will transition to a 2-2-3 shift. There will be plenty of overtime opportunities.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Carlisle, Indiana.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
