Job Summary:The Facilities Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing preventative and reactive maintenance on facility equipment and grounds, ensuring the smooth operation of the facility and addressing any maintenance needs as they arise. The role involves routine inspections, basic repairs, and coordinating with vendors for contracted work.
Key Responsibilities:• Provide preventative and reactive maintenance on facility equipment and grounds• Perform routine inspections of fire safety systems and facility grounds• Conduct basic carpentry and maintain the facility’s physical structure• Troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on electrical, plumbing, walls, and floors• Coordinate with vendors on contracted work and monitor service quality• Utilize ladders and lifts for various maintenance tasks• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations such as NFPA, DOT, ANSI, and OSHA• Maintain accurate records and reports related to maintenance and repairs• Proficiently use computers and MS Office for work documentation
Required Qualifications:• High School Diploma or equivalent• Minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience, or 2 years of post-secondary/associate degree with 0-2 years of related experience• Basic troubleshooting and repair skills for electrical, plumbing, and facility systems• Ability to develop job knowledge and skills through experience• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety regulations• Proficient computer skills, including MS Office
Preferred Qualifications:• Experience using a facility and equipment CMMS (e.g., Faciliworks)• OSHA, NFPA, EPA, or other related certifications or education• HVAC, plumbing, or electrical certifications are a plus
