We are seeking a skilled Shift Supervisor with expertise in injection molding to oversee production operations during the 3rd shift. This role ensures efficient, safe, and quality-driven manufacturing in alignment with company standards. You will manage equipment, train and supervise operators, and troubleshoot issues to maintain optimal production output. Candidates with processing experience are highly preferred.
Location: Round Rock, TX 78664
Pay Rate: Starting at $25 per hour (DOE)
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM (Final shift ends at 6:30 AM Saturday)
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise resources, including operators, materials, and quality on the production floor.
- Communicate with HR and management to address skill gaps, schedule training, and monitor attendance.
- Execute the Production Priority Plan, optimize output, and ensure adherence to processes, work instructions, and safety policies.
- Perform machine startups/shutdowns, troubleshoot quality, safety, and equipment issues, and ensure all production runs meet quality specifications.
- Maintain, monitor, and enforce quality control standards throughout production.
- Blend, load, and document raw materials (resins/colors/additives) to ensure adequate resin levels and proper setup.
- Provide regular coaching and enforce safety policies for all operators.
- Conduct daily preventative maintenance on equipment and document all work performed.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency.
- Manage shift transitions by reporting issues and progress to incoming supervisors via email and reports.
- Directly supervise 3-5 employees, including reviewing and approving weekly timecards.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma/GED
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in injection molding, with proven technical expertise and prior supervisory experience in manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of injection molding processes, material drying, fluid mechanics, and equipment troubleshooting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to interpret technical documents, follow SOPs, and ensure compliance with company policies.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to walk, bend, stretch, and operate machinery in narrow spaces.
- Must lift objects up to 50 lbs. and work in warm environments with exposure to dust, fumes, and odors.
- Vision, dexterity, and mobility sufficient to inspect parts and operate equipment safely and efficiently.
