Position Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our school-based team in Markham, IL. In this full-time role, youll provide individualized speech and language services to support students communication needs, enhancing their academic and social success. Collaborating with school staff, families, and other professionals, youll play a key role in helping students reach their full potential.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Evaluation and Planning:Perform comprehensive assessments to identify students speech and language needs, developing individualized therapy plans tailored to support specific communication goals.
  • Direct Therapy:Provide focused speech and language intervention for students, addressing articulation, language processing, fluency, and social communication skills.
  • Collaboration with Staff and Families:Partner with teachers, special education teams, and parents to implement communication strategies within the classroom setting. Actively participate in IEP meetings, offering insights and recommendations.
  • Progress Monitoring and Documentation:Maintain detailed records of therapy sessions, document student progress, and prepare reports for IEP meetings and other evaluations.
  • Professional Development:Stay informed on current practices in speech-language therapy and engage in ongoing learning to enhance service quality within the school setting.
Qualifications:
  • Education:Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Licensure:Active Illinois SLP license.
  • Certification:Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA is a plus.
  • Experience:Experience working in a school or with children is highly desirable.
  • Skills:Strong understanding of speech-language therapy methods, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
