Job DescriptionJob Description

Position Summary:

You will be responsible for the safe maintenance and repair of all saw filing equipment and will bring your skills to maximize uptime, quality and production. This is a position that uses communication and troubleshooting skills to keep our sawmill running at peak performance.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Examine saws for defects

  • Fixes defects and sharpens blades

  • Brazes or welds cracks

  • Straightens twists and kinks

  • Uses straightening press and hammers

  • Adjusts cutting width of teeth

  • Ability to compute number and angle of teeth to specification

  • Ability to us saw-filing machinery.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Ideally 3-5 years of experience in an industrial or wood products manufacturing environment

  • Knowledge of saw filer tools and techniques

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints

  • Experience in operating and maintaining machinery

  • Ability to complete complex tasks with precision and accuracy

  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods of time

  • Must have dexterity and mechanical skills

  • Some computer knowledge
