Job Description

The operator will be responsible for the operation of various CNC machine tools, including lathes and mills, both horizontal and vertical, with some setup experience. The operator will keep the CNC machine tools running and check the parts being run, including the operation of several machine tools at one time. The operator must adjust offsets and locations, change inserts and cutting tools, and gain full knowledge and understanding of speeds, feeds, and surface callouts of the various machined parts. Safety procedures must be adhered to, and the operator will be responsible for cleanup around the machines and maintaining proper fluid levels.

Responsibilities

• Operate various CNC machine tools, including lathes and mills, both horizontal and vertical.
• Keep CNC machine tools running and check parts being run.
• Operate several machine tools simultaneously.
• Adjust offsets and locations, and change inserts and cutting tools as necessary.
• Gain full knowledge and understanding of speeds, feeds, and surface callouts of machined parts.
• Adhere to and follow company safety procedures, operating all machinery safely.
• Clean up in and around machines and maintain proper fluid levels.

Essential Skills

• 1 year of machining experience or trade school training.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Proficiency in using common machine shop measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.) to inspect and qualify machined parts.
• Knowledge of machine shop practices.
• Ability to lift approximately up to 35 pounds.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Effective communication of machining errors and corrective actions clearly and timely.
