We are actively seeking a compassionate and skilled Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our team in La Grange Park, IL. This role is integral to supporting the district's Connections Program, which is specifically designed to serve students with autism or those who have a similar developmental profile. As an OT in this program, you will work closely with students to develop and implement therapeutic interventions that enhance their ability to participate in academic and social activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessment & Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess students' motor skills, sensory processing, and functional capabilities.
- Individualized Therapy Plans: Develop and implement customized therapy plans tailored to each student's unique needs, focusing on improving fine motor skills, sensory integration, and daily living activities.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure a cohesive approach to student development. Participate in IEP meetings to discuss progress and adapt therapy plans as needed.
- Direct Therapy: Provide direct therapy sessions, both one-on-one and in small groups, to help students achieve their educational goals.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of student progress, therapy sessions, and assessments in compliance with district and state guidelines.
- Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in occupational therapy, particularly in relation to working with students with autism.
Position Details:
- Location: La Grange Park, IL
- New Staff Orientation: August 5, 2024 - August 8, 2024 (8:30 AM - 3:30 PM)
- Official Start Date: August 19, 2024
- End Date: June 9, 2025
- Schedule:
- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 8:15 AM - 3:15 PM
- Wednesday: 8:15 AM - 4:30 PM (Students dismiss at 2:30 PM; Professional Development from 2:30 PM - 4:30 PM)
- Compensation: Starting at $43+ per hour, based on experience and qualifications
