Job Description
This custom job shop serves over 100 different customers. The Welder will be expected to take blueprints, select materials, fit up, weld per specifications, grind welds if needed, and inspect before shipment. The role involves utilizing MIG, TIG, and Flux processes and working primarily with stainless steel, but also with mild steel, aluminum, copper, nickel, and other exotic metals. Approximately 60% of the work is TIG on stainless steel and 40% is MIG on mild steel.
Responsibilities- Interpret and work from blueprints.
- Select appropriate materials for each project.
- Fit up parts and weld according to specifications.
- Utilize MIG, TIG, and Flux welding processes.
- Grind welds when necessary.
- Inspect finished products before shipment.
- 2+ years of welding experience with both TIG and MIG.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Ability to read weld symbols.
- Willingness to perform all-around fabrication tasks, such as grinding welds and fitting up parts.
- 5+ years of welding experience.
- 4+ years of experience with TIG, MIG, and Flux welding.
- 2+ years of pipe welding experience (6G certified in the last position).

Work EnvironmentThis fabrication shop serves over 100 different customers, with only 3-5% of business coming from any single customer. The facility is brand new, very clean, and well-lit, with air conditioning throughout the summer and excellent ventilation. The shop operates on the first shift only, with core hours from 6am to 3pm, and flexibility to start as early as 4am but not later than 7am. Employees typically work 45-48 hour weeks and finish at noon on Fridays.
