Job DescriptionJob DescriptionCloud Security Automation Engineer

Responsibilities:

  • Design and integrate automated security controls into the SDLC, including SAST and SCA tools.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and propose technical solutions.

  • Enforce security controls consistently and work to reduce existing security debt.

  • Assist application teams with cloud security onboarding and troubleshoot integration issues with vendors.

  • Mitigate security vulnerabilities through automated processes in collaboration with the Application Security team.

  • Provide guidance on cloud security and automation, ensuring logical security controls are scalable.

  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices; conduct research, tests, and implement new techniques for the SDLC.

Qualifications:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Proven experience in building CI/CD pipelines for both applications and infrastructure with a focus on security.

  • Expert knowledge of Cloud Native Engineering (GCP preferred); cloud security experience is a plus.

  • Hands-on experience with securing containers at scale; supply chain protection experience is a plus.

  • Experience in developing and deploying applications in a containerized environment.

  • Mastery of automation tools (e.g., Concourse, Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible); GitHub Actions is a plus.

  • Experience in developing, deploying, and maintaining automation using Python, Go, or similar languages.

  • Familiarity with automated, frequent, incremental code testing and deployment as part of mature DevOps practices.

  • Expert knowledge of both Windows and various Linux operating systems.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

  • Minimum of 5 years of related work experience.

Application Security Engineer

  • Implement security automation in existing systems using Python, Bash, and CI/CD tools.

  • Integrate automated security controls into the SDLC, including SAST and SCA tools.

  • Collaborate with functional teams to gather requirements and propose technical solutions.

  • Enforce security controls consistently and reduce existing security debt.

  • Assist application teams with cloud security onboarding and troubleshoot integration issues with vendors.

  • Mitigate security vulnerabilities through automated processes in collaboration with the Application Security team.

  • Provide guidance on cloud security and automation, ensuring logical security controls are scalable.

  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices; conduct research, tests, and implement new techniques for the SDLC.

Pay Details: $40.00 to $80.00 per hour
