Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWe are seeking a Payroll Clerk to join our team in the business services industry, located in Chesapeake, Virginia. This role offers a long term contract employment opportunity. As a Payroll Clerk, you will be responsible for processing payroll, maintaining accurate payroll records, and handling payroll-related inquiries. You will also be responsible for managing timecard approvals, garnishments, liens, deductions, and calculating pay.

Responsibilities

• Accurately process payroll in a timely manner
• Manage timecard approvals, edits, and adjustments efficiently
• Handle the processing of garnishments, liens, and deductions
• Calculate pay accurately based on timecard and deductions information
• Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure all data is up-to-date
• Resolve payroll-related inquiries and provide necessary information
• Utilize accounting software systems effectively for payroll processing
• Carry out filing duties related to payroll documents and records
• Use ADP - Payroll for efficient and accurate payroll processing
• Monitor payroll accounts and take appropriate action when necessary.• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Payroll Clerk or similar role
• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
• Strong filing and record-keeping skills
• Experience with ADP - Payroll
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong numerical skills and an understanding of data privacy standards
• Exceptional time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines
• High level of professionalism and confidentiality
• Ability to work in a fast-paced business services environment
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
