Duration: 6 month contract to hire
Location: Bellevue, WA (fully onsite to start - once ramped up will be remote for about 2 days a week)
Must Haves:
- 5+ yrs of experience with structured cable engineering
- Exp with fiber optics, low voltage, ethernet cabling, patch panels, mdf, etc.
- Proficient in working with vendors to scope projects for cable pulls, making sure the contractor completes inspection, does job etc.
- Personable - will be working with engineering & project teams a lot
- ME06 or MEA6 electrician license/Low voltage engineering license
Plus:
- Electrical wiring background
- Healthcare is a huge help borderline must have - knowing what they can do where OR having at least
- Ex: containment opening ceilings specific to healthcare
- Low voltage engineering administrator license
Day to Day:
As a cabling systems engineer, you will provide technical expertise on a wide range of projects as it relates to the organizations structured cabling systems. You will lead design activities with key client stakeholders, IS departments including the development of design & budgets. This role will partner with our engineering team and project managers in the development of construction documents for the procurements and installation of IT systems. The ideal candidate will have the ability to interface effectively with project managers, end users, vendors and leadership. They will be supporting a hospital that has 2,000 computers, 5 different main campus buildings, and 11 clinics that all need to connect. Daily responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Facilitates structured cabling project activities, approves changes to project scope and schedules, resolves project issues and reports status.
- Owns the design of the structured cabling system as applicable to the three-year development plan.
- Owns and documents all campus and clinic cable plants, to include all copper and fiber optic terminations and wiring closet locations.
- Owns and maintains labeling and inventory of cable terminations.
- Supports systems user issues related to structured cabling and serves as the escalation point for all structured cabling issues.
- Secures the structured cabling systems by engaging with the IT security team to design, establish and enforce policies. Designs and implements security technologies as related to structured cabling as part of the IT security strategy.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
