Caseload: Elementary, Moderate, Self-Contained
Hours: 37.5hours/week
Position Overview:
ProCare Therapy is seeking a Special Education Teacher to fill a position in our elementary school in Rock Hill, SC This is a full-time contract position with weekly pay. You would work in a self contained classroomwith 14 students with moderate intellectual disabilities. 2 assistants will be in the classrooms. The ideal candidate will be a compassionate educator who can create individualized learning plans, implement effective teaching strategies, and collaborate with other staff members and families to support student success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Ability and flexibility to move classrooms within district
- Create and adapt lesson plans to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Coordinate with general education teachers to support students in mainstream classes.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, providing updates on student progress and addressing any concerns.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
- Active SC Special Education License (Required)
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation.
- Must be comfortable with a self contained classroom setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Salary and Benefits:
- Hourly Rate: $35+. Pay range dependent on experience/school district budget.
