Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and dedicated Full-Time School Physical Therapist to join our team in Springfield, MA. This role offers the opportunity to work with students across various grade levels, providing physical therapy services to enhance their educational experience and support their physical development. The ideal candidate will be a licensed physical therapist with a passion for helping children and adolescents reach their full potential in the school setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, evaluate, and develop individualized physical therapy plans for students with a variety of physical needs and conditions.
- Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and other professionals to create and implement educational plans that promote student success.
- Provide direct therapy services in both individual and group settings, as well as during classroom activities and physical education classes.
- Monitor student progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Document and maintain accurate, up-to-date records of student progress, therapy activities, and communication with families.
- Educate and support teachers, parents, and staff regarding physical therapy strategies to promote physical health and mobility in the school environment.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with physical disabilities.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations related to therapy services in educational settings.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) in the state of Massachusetts.
- Bachelor's or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
- Prior experience working with children in a school or pediatric setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of physical therapy techniques, principles, and practices, particularly as they relate to children with developmental, neurological, and musculoskeletal disorders.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to adapt therapy plans to meet the individual needs of students.
- Strong documentation and record-keeping skills.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
