Job Title: Full-Time Elementary Special Education Teacher
Location: Commerce, GA

School Year: 2024-2025

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Elementary Special Education Teacher to join our team in Commerce, GA for the 2024-2025 school year. The ideal candidate will be passionate about working with elementary-aged students with diverse learning needs. You will collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and families to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) that support academic growth and social-emotional development in a nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for elementary students with special needs.
  • Provide direct instruction to students in inclusive and self-contained classroom settings.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to modify and differentiate curriculum based on students needs.
  • Assess students abilities and monitor progress regularly to ensure they meet academic and behavioral goals.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional techniques to engage students and support their learning.
  • Implement behavior management plans to support students social and emotional development.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, caregivers, and school staff regarding student progress and challenges.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure students receive comprehensive support.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education or a related field.
  • Valid Georgia certification in Special Education.
  • Experience working with elementary-aged students with diverse learning and behavioral needs.
  • Strong knowledge of IEP development and implementation.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Patience, creativity, and a passion for helping students succeed academically and socially.
