Job Description

Candidates will operate overhead cranes to unload trucks in the yard. Responsibilities include lowering the crane above truck materials, climbing onto the truck to hook chains, and moving materials to designated sections using a remote control. Training will involve general clean-up, learning color codes for steel, warehouse placement, and crane operation. The environment is heavy industrial, requiring hard hats and involving dirty, steel-surrounded conditions. Candidates must be prepared for 8-10 hour shifts of walking and physically demanding tasks. Safety rules must be strictly adhered to. Opportunities to train as a saw or brake operator may arise. Candidates must learn and retain a color coding system.
