Job Description: Speech-Language Pathologist

Location: Troutman, North Carolina

Position Overview: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team in Troutman, North Carolina. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional speech and language services to students, helping them overcome communication challenges and achieve academic success. The Speech-Language Pathologist will collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement effective treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments to diagnose speech, language, and communication disorders.
  • Develop individualized therapy plans to address the specific needs of each student.
  • Provide individual and group therapy sessions to improve speech, language, and communication skills.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to support students' educational goals.
  • Participate in IEP (Individualized Education Program) meetings and contribute to the development of students' educational plans.
  • Monitor and document students' progress, adjusting therapy plans as necessary.
  • Provide training and resources to teachers and parents to support students' communication development.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of all assessments and therapy sessions.
  • Stay current with best practices and advancements in speech-language pathology.

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Valid North Carolina license or eligible for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Experience working with children in a school setting is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of speech and language assessment tools, intervention strategies, and special education laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team and diverse stakeholders.

Licensure and Certification Requirements:

  • Valid North Carolina license or eligible for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist issued by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech and Language Pathologists and Audiologists.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA.
  • North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) license to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the public schools.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to ethical standards set by ASHA and the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech and Language Pathologists and Audiologists.
