Job Title:School Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
Location:Markham, IL
Type:Full-Time
We are currently seeking an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to work full-time with students in Markham, IL. This role is focused on supporting students communication skills and helping them succeed academically and socially. As part of a collaborative team, youll work closely with educators, families, and other professionals to address individual needs and create supportive learning environments.
Main Responsibilities:- Assessment and Goal Setting:Conduct thorough assessments of students speech, language, and communication needs. Design individualized therapy plans aimed at enhancing each students communication skills.
- Direct Therapy Services:Provide targeted speech-language therapy, focusing on areas such as articulation, fluency, social communication, and language processing.
- Team Collaboration:Partner with teachers, special education staff, and parents to apply effective communication strategies within classroom routines. Participate actively in IEP meetings to share observations and recommendations.
- Progress Tracking and Documentation:Maintain accurate records of sessions and student progress, and prepare reports for IEPs and review meetings to track each students development.
- Continuous Learning:Stay up-to-date with the latest methods in speech-language therapy and take part in professional development to continuously improve the quality of service.
- Education:Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- License:Valid Illinois SLP license.
- Certification:ASHAs Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) is preferred.
- Experience:Experience in schools or with children is a plus.
- Skills:Strong knowledge of speech therapy practices, excellent communication and organizational skills, and ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
