  • Preferred but not mandatory; candidates without certification may still apply.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for installations and service calls.
  • Must possess a current and valid state-required Physical Security license and/or Life Safety license relevant to the technology being used.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints and site maps is essential for successful installations.
  • Familiarity with NFPA standards, particularly NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) and NFPA 72 (National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code).
  • Experience with burglar alarms, access control systems, and CCTV technology is a significant advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are crucial for maintaining positive customer relationships.
  • Certified to operate a BOOM or scissor lift; must be comfortable working at heights.
  • Must possess basic telecommunication tools, personal protective equipment (PPE), and reliable transportation for job-related travel.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving history; no DUI or DWI offenses within the last three years.
Job Description:
  • Install, repair, and upgrade fire alarm systems while programming control panels according to detailed building plans and electrical layouts.
  • Strategically mount sensors in designated locations, which involves tasks such as drilling holes for cabling and accessing hard-to-reach areas like crawlspaces and attics.
  • Ensure all work performed adheres to the latest local, state, and federal codes and regulations governing fire safety.
  • Skillfully run low voltage cabling throughout commercial buildings, including drilling through concrete walls and executing limited conduit work as necessary.
  • Complete all wiring, connections, and equipment installations with precision, ensuring that all fire alarm systems meet stringent electrical and fire safety codes.
  • Conduct thorough tests to verify that newly installed fire alarm systems and their components are fully operational, troubleshooting any issues to ensure compliance with local, county, state, or federal regulations, as well as legal and insurance requirements.
