Occupational Therapist Job - School Setting

Hourly Rate: $50/hour

The primary goal of an occupational therapist is to provide treatment to individuals who face challenges in performing daily activities due to injury, disability, or illness. By engaging patients in therapeutic activities, occupational therapists help them improve and regain the necessary skills for daily life. While occupational therapy is commonly associated with hospitals and healthcare facilities, it plays a crucial role in school settings as well.

Qualifications: To be considered for this role, prospective candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Hold a Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Possess active licensure as an Occupational Therapist
  • Have 2+ years of experience (preferred)
  • Have experience in pediatrics or schools

Responsibilities: In this role, prospective candidates should be capable of:

  • Providing direct and consultative occupational therapy services to students in alignment with their individual educational plans
  • Conducting occupational therapy evaluations to determine eligibility for occupational therapy services
  • Collaborating with special and regular educators in the development, implementation, and coordination of services
  • Completing special education documentation in compliance with Department expectations, state and federal laws, and regulations
  • Attending and actively contributing to IEP meetings
