Work From Home | School Sign Language Interpreter | Nevada School District
We are seeking a qualified and dedicated Work From Home School Sign Language Interpreter to join our team. In this role, you will provide online sign language interpretation services for students, helping ensure effective communication for students who are deaf or hard of hearing. You do not need to live in Nevada to apply, you need proof of an EIPA score including written knowledge.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver accurate and timely sign language interpretation for students during online classes, meetings, and school activities.
- Help in communication between students, teachers, and peers in real-time via video platforms.
- Cooperate with school staff to ensure the academic success and well-being of students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Modify interpretation style and methods based on the age and educational level of the student.
- Take part in meetings with educational teams to develop strategies for student support and success.
Qualifications:
- Active Nevada Sign Language Interpreter certification (NIC, RID, or equivalent) required.
- Previous experience interpreting in educational settings, especially K-12, preferred.
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL).
- Ability to use video conferencing tools (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, etc.) and other online communication platforms.
- Committed to workingindependently and managing a flexible schedule.
