A CPA firm headquartered in Carmel has an immediate opportunity for an experienced Sr. Tax Accountant on a full-time, contract to hire basis. The Sr. Tax Accountant will prepare AND review both business and individual tax returns year round in addition to general accounting services. If you possess strong analytical skills, the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, and if you are genuinely passionate about upholding client confidentiality then this company is the perfect place for you to showcase and enhance your skills.


Target hours are Mon - Fri 8AM - 5PM, but there is potential for OPTIONAL overtime. Overtime is not required at any point in the year. This role also offers the ability to work remote 1-2 days a week after training.


Day to Day Job Duties:

  • Reviewing and preparing complex federal and multi-state income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts.
  • Assisting in Federal, State, Local and Special Tax audits.
  • Applying knowledge of tax principles, practices, and procedures in preparation and review of tax returns and payments.
  • Providing proactive engagement planning and effective tax strategies to meet client needs.
  • Reviewing financial records such as income statements and documentation of expenditures.
  • Recommending tax strategies by researching federal, state, and local taxation issues.
  • Identifying potential tax credits and liabilities and ensures accurate and complete returns are filed in a timely manner.
  • Addressing any tax issues and efficiently resolving them.


  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Tax, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in public accounting and tax.
  • CPA designation or CPA candidate is highly desirable.
  • Excellent knowledge of tax accounting, tax compliance, and all types of tax returns.
  • Good at meeting deadlines and solving problems.
  • Exceptional computer skills, including Microsoft Office and databases.
  • Familiarity with tax software and reporting tools.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to multi-task.
