LHH seeks a Financial Coordinator in Covina, CA.
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive financial assistance to patients, ensuring they receive the support needed to cover hospital services.
Work closely with patients to explore and secure all possible avenues of financial assistance.
Ensure all account information is accurate, including missing data, appropriate data entry, and liabilities.
Identify patients requiring financial counseling and coordinate visits.
Collect various forms of payment, including cash, credit cards, cashier's checks, and personal checks.
Refer patients to appropriate agencies for further assistance, such as Covered California, Medi-Cal Office, and Medicare.
Coordinate cash collections for physicians and follow up with patients as needed.
Manage daily reconciliation of collections and maintain accurate payment logs.
Submit refund requests as necessary and verify insurance benefits and patient income when needed.
Build rapport with case managers, utilization reviewers, and house supervisors.
Follow up with discharged patients to address any outstanding liabilities.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; associates degree preferred.
Minimum of 2 years in a hospital environment, preferably in a medical staff office.
Strong organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written.
Certification: CPCS certification is preferred.
Onsite position Monday to Friday 8am - 5 pm
Pay Details: $19.00 to $21.00 per hour
