Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWe are offering an exciting opportunity in the Healthcare, Hospitals, and Social Assistance industry in Austin, Texas. We are seeking a Sr. Accountant who is prepared to take on a variety of responsibilities, including processing journal entries, maintaining the general ledger, and reviewing financial statements for accuracy.

Responsibilities
• Organize and coordinate the posting of journal entries to the general and subsidiary ledgers for a timely close process.
• Develop and maintain spreadsheets or other work papers to support journal entries.
• Review the general ledger trial balance on a monthly basis to ensure accuracy and reasonableness.
• Conduct monthly analysis of cost trends and provide written reports.
• Perform independent research into coding errors in expenses each month and develop correcting entries as required.
• Reconcile the general ledger control accounts to the subsidiary ledgers balance regularly.
• Review and approve entries posted to subsidiary and general ledgers for accuracy, ensuring compliance with established accounting policies and procedures.
• Generate accurate and timely financial statements and reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
• Assist in identifying and resolving potential internal control issues.
• Prepare audit schedules to support the annual audit.

• A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required.

• Proven experience as a Senior Accountant in the healthcare, hospitals, or social assistance industry.

• Proficiency in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations.

• Extensive knowledge of general ledger functions and creating journal entries.

• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.

• Experience with month-end close procedures is required.

• Familiarity with NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP accounting software.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.

• Knowledge of current accounting regulations and standards.

• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• CPA or other relevant certification is a plus, 4+ years' experience in accounting
