Are you a passionate and dedicated school psychologist seeking to make a positive impact on students in their formative years?

Soliant Education is seeking a qualified School Psychologist to join our team in the Fair Haven, MI area This full-time, on-site position for the 2024-2025 school year offers the rewarding opportunity to provide comprehensive psychological services to students across the K-8 spectrum.

What You'll Do:

  • Conduct individual and group psychoeducational assessments to identify students' academic, social-emotional, and behavioral needs specific to the K-8 learning environment.
  • Develop and interpret psychological reports with recommendations for interventions and support strategies tailored to students in elementary and middle school.
  • Collaborate with general and special education teachers, administrators, and parents to create effective Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 Plans for students with diverse needs.
  • Provide individual and group counseling sessions to address students' social-emotional needs, including anxiety, depression, and peer relationships, focusing on strategies for success throughout K-8.
  • Consult with teachers and staff on classroom management strategies and positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS) appropriate for K-8 students.
  • Participate in school-wide initiatives to promote a positive school climate and social-emotional well-being for all K-8 students.
  • Stay up-to-date on best practices in school psychology and participate in professional development opportunities to maintain expertise in supporting developing learners.

Qualifications:

  • Michigan State School Psychologist License.
  • Prior experience working in a school setting with a K-8 student population is preferred.
  • Strong assessment skills in the areas of intellectual functioning, academic achievement, social-emotional development, and behavior specific to students in elementary and middle school.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with students, parents, and school staff in a developmentally appropriate way for both age groups.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and report writing.
  • Collaborative and team-oriented approach with a commitment to student success at all grade levels (K-8).
  • Strong understanding of child and adolescent development and learning theories.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based interventions and best practices in school psychology specifically tailored to the K-8 student population.
