Job DescriptionJob DescriptionJob Title: Director of Engineering and R&D

Location: Houston, Texas

As the Director of Engineering and R&D, you will lead our team in developing analytical products, ensuring high quality and compliance with industry standards. This role involves supervising engineering and quality teams, organizing workflows, and collaborating with the CTO on new technology and innovative ideas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of mechanical, electrical, software, and quality engineers.

  • Develop sensors, analyzers, and software applications.

  • Oversee product compliance with industry standards.

  • Support ERP system integration within the engineering group.

  • Build and manage systems for Engineering Change Management (ECM).

  • Partner with operations for translating assembly drawings and design verification plans into work instructions.

  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and service to address product gaps.

  • Manage New Product Development (NPD) and VaVe projects.

  • Manage R&D budget and optimize engineering staff resources.

  • Provide technical expertise and market trend insights to senior management.

  • Promote communication and aligned objectives among teams.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or equivalent, PhD preferred.

  • 7+ years of experience in designing and developing analytical instrumentation.

  • 5+ years of management leadership experience.

  • In-depth understanding of engineering principles and industry regulations.

  • Proficiency in ANSI/ASME and ASTM standards.

  • Experience with ISO 9001 and ISO 17025.

  • Familiarity with design and certification for hazardous locations is a plus.

  • Proven leadership skills and success in managing a team.

  • Strong problem-solving and time management skills.
