Position: Special Education Teacher
Location: Vernon Hills, IL

Position Details:
  • Job Type: Full-Time, Monday - Friday
  • Hours: 37.5 - 40 hours per week
  • School Year: 2024/2025

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Special Education Teacher to join our team in Vernon Hills, IL, for the 2024/2025 school year. The ideal candidate will work closely with students who have diverse learning needs, providing tailored instruction and support to help them achieve their educational goals. This position offers a collaborative work environment with dedicated staff and supportive leadership.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) based on students unique needs
  • Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles
  • Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instructional methods as necessary
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure student success
  • Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that fosters academic and social-emotional growth
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with parents and school staff
Qualifications:
  • Valid Illinois Special Education Teaching Credential
  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Special Education or related field
  • Experience developing and implementing IEPs
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to adapt instructional methods to meet the needs of diverse learners
