Pediatric Dietitian

Position Title: Pediatric Dietitian- Springfield, IL- Position open to RD-Eligible and Experienced Dietitians with relocation assistance if needed

Reports To: Clinical Nutrition Manager

Location: HSHS St John's

Details: We are seeking a full-time Clinical Dietitian (36 hours per week) to join the inpatient pediatric and maternal nutrition team at HSHS St. John's Hospital. This role also provides opportunities to cross-train and collaborate with the NICU team. HSHS St. John's Hospital Women and Children's Center features a Level II pediatric trauma center (8 PICU beds), a Level III perinatal care center, and a 56-bed Level III NICU. As a teaching medical center, we work in partnership with SIU Medicine, offering a rich environment for professional growth. In this role, the Clinical Dietitian will deliver comprehensive medical nutrition therapy and patient education for a diverse range of cases, including but not limited to diabetes management, malnutrition, failure to thrive, gastrointestinal disorders, nutrition support, and promoting healthy eating habits. Participation in the hospital's breastfeeding support group is also part of this role.

We are seeking a Clinical Dietitian (FT) to join our Nutrition Team in an acute care medical center in Springfield, IL.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provides medical nutrition therapy including nutrition assessment, diet modification, nutrition education, and intervention for the patient population
• Follows all guidelines as outlined within the Company Diet Manual and the Clinical Nutrition Policies & Procedures Manual
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members during PICU rounding and daily patient care
• Complies with all regulatory standards to include federal, state, and accrediting agencies while adhering to facility confidentiality, HIPAA regulations, and patient rights policies
• Trains and mentors patient services staff and interns as applicable
• Participates in patient satisfaction programs, departmental meetings, and facility wide Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement programs

Qualifications:

• Credentialed as a Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
• Licensed by the State Dietetics Licensing/Credentialing Board, in states where required
• One (1) year of hospital experience, preferred
• Possess the necessary skills to effectively utilize Microsoft office applications, electronic medical record & diet office systems, and nutrient analysis programming
