Are you a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher seeking a rewarding opportunity to empower middle school students with diverse learning needs in a dynamic and supportive educational environment?

Soliant Education is seeking a qualified Special Education Teacher to join our team in the Cambridge, MA area This full-time, in-person position for the 2024-2025 school year offers a unique chance to make a significant impact on the lives of students by providing them with individualized support for academic success and social-emotional well-being during this crucial developmental stage.

What You'll Do:

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to meet the specific needs of students with a variety of learning challenges, including learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), emotional disturbance (ED), and other disabilities in a middle school setting.
  • Utilize a variety of evidence-based instructional strategies and differentiated learning methods to ensure all students have access to the middle school curriculum and can achieve their full potential.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, counselors, paraprofessionals, and families to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment that promotes academic success and social-emotional development for students with special needs.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor student progress, analyze data, and modify IEPs as needed to ensure continued growth and development.
  • Foster critical thinking skills, self-advocacy, and independent learning strategies in middle school students with special needs.
  • Integrate assistive technology and support strategies to help students access the curriculum and participate actively in classroom activities.
  • Navigate the unique social and emotional challenges faced by middle school students with disabilities and provide supportive interventions.
  • Advocate for students with special needs and promote their inclusion in all aspects of middle school life.
  • Stay current on best practices in special education for middle school learners and participate in professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Massachusetts State Licensure as a Special Education Teacher.
  • Prior experience working with students with diverse learning needs in a middle school special education setting is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of adolescent development, special education methodologies, and evidence-based practices for middle school learners.
  • Expertise in developing and implementing IEPs, data analysis, differentiated instruction, and utilizing assistive technology.
  • Excellent munication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with students, parents, general education teachers, specialists, counselors, paraprofessionals, and other school staff.
  • Patience, flexibility, creativity, and a passion for helping students with diverse learning needs overe challenges, navigate social dynamics in middle school, and achieve academic and social success.
