Position Overview: We are actively searching for a compassionate and skilled School Social Worker to join our team for the 2024/2025 school year. This full-time role involves working 32-37 hours each week from Monday to Friday. As a School Social Worker, you will be an integral part of our educational team, working directly with students to support their social, emotional, and behavioral needs. Key Responsibilities: In this role, you will be responsible for providing a wide range of services to students who may be facing various challenges. Your duties will include:

  • Counseling Services: You will offer individual and group counseling to students, helping them to cope with personal issues, improve social skills, and develop strategies for dealing with stress, anxiety, and other emotional difficulties. This could involve working with students on a regular basis or providing crisis intervention when necessary.

  • Developing Intervention Plans: You will work closely with teachers, parents, and other school staff to create and implement intervention strategies tailored to each students needs. This might include developing behavior management plans, creating strategies to improve attendance, or addressing issues related to bullying and peer relationships.

  • Collaboration: You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team that may include teachers, school psychologists, counselors, and administrators. Together, you will work to create a supportive and safe learning environment for all students. This collaboration ensures that each student receives the comprehensive support they need to succeed academically and personally.

  • Family Support and Advocacy: Part of your role will also involve working with families to ensure they have access to resources and support services. You may need to advocate for students and their families within the school system or connect them with community resources like mental health services, social services, or after-school programs.

Qualifications: To be considered for this position, you must meet the following qualifications:

  • Licensure: You must hold a valid State School Social Worker Licensure. This license demonstrates that you have met the professional and educational requirements necessary to practice as a social worker in a school setting.

  • Education: A Masters Degree in Social Work (MSW) is required for this position. This advanced degree indicates that you have received comprehensive training in social work practices, ethics, and the development of intervention strategies.

  • Experience: We are looking for candidates who have experience working with students in an educational or clinical setting, particularly those who have dealt with social, emotional, or behavioral challenges. Your ability to effectively communicate with students, build trust, and develop meaningful intervention plans will be critical to your success in this role.
