Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our team in Lynden, WA, on a full-time basis for the duration of the 2024-2025 academic year. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while providing essential occupational therapy services to students in the Lynden area.

Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate students' fine motor skills, sensory processing, and overall occupational performance.
  2. Collaborate closely with the IEP team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to meet each student's unique needs.
  3. Provide direct therapy services to students, both individually and in group settings, focusing on areas such as handwriting, self-care skills, sensory regulation, and social participation.
  4. Work collaboratively with educators, parents, and other school staff to integrate therapy goals into the educational environment effectively.
  5. Monitor student progress regularly and adjust intervention strategies as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
  6. Maintain accurate documentation of therapy sessions and progress reports in compliance with professional and regulatory standards.
  7. Actively participate in IEP meetings and team discussions to evaluate student progress and contribute to the development of educational plans.
  8. Stay updated on the latest advancements in occupational therapy practices and standards through ongoing professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:

  1. Hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
  2. Possess current licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the state of Washington.
  3. Previous experience in a school-based setting is preferred but not required.
  4. Demonstrate a strong understanding of child development and learning disabilities.
  5. Exhibit excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  6. Be flexible and adaptable to meet the diverse needs of students and the school community.
  7. Show dedication to providing evidence-based therapy services that promote student success and well-being.
