Job DescriptionJob Description

We are offering a short-term contract employment opportunity for a Development Assistant in Oakland, California. As a Development Assistant, your role will be to process donations, maintain donor profiles, and handle donor tracking and processing. You will also be involved in logistics and planning for fundraising events, website updates, and preparation of outreach materials.


Responsibilities:

• Processing and recording donations in the donor database

• Preparing and processing various donor documents such as acknowledgement, thank you letters, and tax exemption receipts

• Assisting with logistics and planning for fundraising events

• Assisting in the preparation and distribution of donor outreach and follow-up communications

• Assisting with the update of donor acknowledgement pages on the website

• Assisting in run-testing new donation processing apps

• Assisting in the migration of resources from old website

• Preparing case and advocacy highlight materials for general and in-person fundraising events

• Assisting with the layout and distribution of eNewsletter

• Assisting in the logging and preparation descriptions of auction items for fundraising events

Part time role, Wednesday-Friday 8:30-4:30 including a 30-minute lunch break

Position is fully onsite 

• Proven experience in answering inbound calls, demonstrating excellent telephone etiquette.

• Strong customer service skills, with the ability to manage queries and resolve issues efficiently.

• Proficient in data entry, ensuring accurate and timely input of information.

• Able to manage email correspondence effectively, responding in a timely and detail oriented manner.

• Experienced in handling both inbound and outbound calls, maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to create spreadsheets, use formulas, and analyze data.

• Skilled in using Microsoft Outlook for scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and email correspondence.

• Ability to create effective presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint.

• Proficient in Microsoft Word, able to create, edit, and format documents.

• Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to schedule appointments and manage multiple calendars.
