Middle School Special Education Teacher

Position: Special Education Teacher (Middle School)
Location: Bristol, VT
Job Type: Full-time, Contract
Pay Rate: Competitive, based on experience

Position Overview:

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Special Education Teacher to support middle school students in Bristol, VT. In this role, you will work with students with diverse learning needs, providing personalized instruction and fostering an inclusive classroom environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement IEPs for middle school students, tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Use specialized strategies and tools to support students academic, social, and emotional growth.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, families, and support staff to ensure consistent support across settings.
  • Create a structured, engaging learning environment that promotes student progress.
  • Track and report on student progress, adjusting teaching methods as necessary to meet learning goals.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education or a related field.
  • Valid Vermont Special Education teaching certification.
  • Prior experience working with middle school students or special education is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills and a commitment to student-centered teaching.
