Soliant Education is currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to work onsite for the 2024-2025 school year. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic classroom environment with a supportive team. The teacher will manage a caseload of 6 students (1 self-contained and 5 inclusion/resource). You will be working closely with 2 paraprofessionals to ensure the students' educational needs are met.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct instruction and support to students with disabilities in a self-contained and inclusion/resource setting
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students on your caseload
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and other staff to ensure students' success in the classroom
  • Track and report student progress toward IEP goals
  • Modify and adapt curriculum to meet students' individual needs
  • Maintain a safe and positive learning environment for students
  • Communicate with parents and guardians regarding student progress and needs
  • Participate in IEP meetings, as necessary
Requirements:
  • Maine DOE 282 Special Education certification (professional or conditional) required
  • Prior experience working with students with special needs, preferably in both self-contained and inclusion/resource settings
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work effectively with a team of paraprofessionals and other school staff
  • Passion for working with students with diverse learning needs
  • Part-Time Option: We will also consider part-time (3.5 hours per day) for the right candidate
