Job Description

The Inventory Specialist oversees the ordering, storing, receiving, and distributing processes of an organization’s products and supplies. They are responsible for controlling the flow of supplies and equipment, tracking and analyzing inventory maintenance, and developing protocols for loss mitigation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update inventory records, monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages and excesses, and perform regular physical inventory audits.
• Order, receive, and document new stock, ensuring its adequate storage and distribution within the company.
• Interview potential vendors, negotiate contracts, and select ones that best meet the needs of the organization.
• Evaluate and improve the selection, shipping, and inventory processes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Develop and implement protocols for reducing losses due to waste, damage, or theft.
• Prepare detailed reports on inventory operations, stock levels, and adjustments for management review.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with inventory control, cycle counts, data entry, inventory management, SAP, material handling, warehouse inventory, computer skills, and purchasing.

Work Environment

The work environment includes working with inventory software systems, handling materials, and managing warehouse inventory. The position may require standing for extended periods and lifting heavy items. The role involves regular communication with vendors and other team members to ensure smooth inventory operations.

Job Type & Location

This is a 1-2 week Contract position.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00
