Role Overview:
As a Special Education Teacher Consultant, you will work with school staff to develop and implement individualized strategies for students with special needs. You will assist with IEP development, monitor student progress, and provide professional development to ensure educators are well-equipped to support diverse learners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Consultation: Provide expert consultation to educators and administrators on strategies for teaching students with special needs.
  • IEP Support: Assist with the creation, monitoring, and updating of IEPs for students with disabilities.
  • Professional Development: Lead training sessions for teachers to improve their skills in supporting students with special needs.
  • Progress Monitoring: Help teachers track and evaluate student progress to ensure successful learning outcomes.
  • Collaboration: Partner with families, teachers, and specialists to provide comprehensive support for students.
  • Resource Management: Ensure educators have access to the tools and resources needed to support students with disabilities.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education.
  • Certification: Valid Michigan Special Education Certification required.
  • Experience: Previous experience in special education, particularly in a consulting role, preferred.
  • Skills: Strong collaboration, problem-solving, and communication skills; expertise in IEP development.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary: $55,000$65,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
