Paraprofessional for Self-Contained Classroom

Location:Yorkville, IL
Hours: 7:30 AM - 2:30 PM or 7:45 AM - 2:45 PM
Grades: K-5

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Paraprofessional to join our team in a self-contained classroom for students in grades K-5. Our classroom serves a maximum of 11 students, focusing on those with social and munication needs, as well as providing behavior support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the classroom teacher in implementing educational programs tailored to individual student needs.
• Support students in their social interactions and munication skills, fostering a positive learning environment.
• Collaborate with other paraprofessionals and staff to ensure prehensive support for all students.
• Participate in inclusion opportunities as needed, promoting engagement and participation in various activities.
• Monitor student behavior and provide necessary support to help maintain a safe and productive classroom atmosphere.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience working with students with special needs preferred.
• Strong munication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• A passion for supporting the educational and personal growth of children.
