Job Description: Speech-Language Pathologist
Location: Monongahela, Pennsylvania
Position: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
Job Type: Full-Time
Overview: Monongahela Valley School District is seeking a passionate and skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team. The SLP will be responsible for providing speech and language services to students, helping them overe munication barriers and succeed academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to diagnose speech, language, and munication disorders.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with speech and language needs.
- Provide direct speech and language therapy to students individually or in groups.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student progress.
- Maintain accurate records of assessments, treatment plans, and progress.
- Participate in IEP meetings, providing expertise and remendations.
- Conduct screenings and provide consultations as needed.
- Stay current with best practices and research in speech-language pathology.
- Provide training and support to school staff on speech and language development.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Pennsylvania state license in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Certificate of Clinical petence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
- Pennsylvania Department of Education certification for Speech-Language Pathologists.
- Knowledge of IDEA and state and federal regulations governing special education.
- Strong interpersonal and munication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience in a school setting is preferred but not required.
Required Licensure and Certifications:
- Pennsylvania State License: Must hold and maintain a valid license to practice speech-language pathology in Pennsylvania.
- ASHA Certification: Certificate of Clinical petence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
- Pennsylvania Department of Education Certification: Certification for Speech-Language Pathologists, meeting all state educational and examination requirements.
