Job DescriptionJob Description

Our client, a nationwide leader in plastics manufacturing, has an immediate need for an experienced Machine – Extrusion Operator, to join their winning team in Mansfield.

 

Our candidate of choice will be responsible for maintaining and operation of Sheet Extrusion Equipment and Material Handling.  You will ensure interminable and efficient running of production and be reliable and able to work with attention to detail and safety standards.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Set up machines (Color and size changes, cleaning, etc.) in preparation for production
  • Operate machinery and adjust settings as necessary to achieve proper sheet quality and smooth machine operation
  • Loading of raw materials
  • Inspect sheet with precise measuring tools to ensure quality
  • Monitor and test operation of machinery periodically
  • Correct issues that may occur during the shift
  • Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws and implement corrections
  • Keep records of approved and defective units or final products
  • Maintain activity logs
  • SQF/ISO requirements compliance

 

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven experience as and Extrusion Operator (Sheet Extrusion Experience a plus)
  • Working knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery and measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.)
  • Understanding of and willingness to follow and enforce production procedures
  • Adherence to health and safety regulations (e.g. constant use of protective gear)
  • Ability to read technical manuals
  • Analytical skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Teamwork and communication skills
  • Physical stamina and strength
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; technical degree is a plus
